Webinars and Self-Study Course Offerings Classroom Offerings Advanced Studies in Real Estate (ASRE)
The Real Estate Division offers a series of short online Professional Development courses aimed at satisfying real estate practitioners' continuing education needs. All courses are offered through distance education in a self-study format (with an online quiz) or a live webinar
. Tuition ranges between $60 and $195, depending on the length of the course and the delivery method.
Most Professional Development courses meet the Appraisal Institute of Canada's Continuing Professional Development (AIC CPD) requirements, after successful completion of the quiz or active participation in the webinar. Please note that these courses do not qualify for credit for UBC degree, diploma, or certificate programs.
Course Structure
CPD courses range from one to four lessons, typically 3-5 hours of work per lesson.
Webinars - Feed Your Future with CPD Fridays
On the first Friday of every month, the Real Estate Division offers selected courses in webinar (live online classroom) format. Students taking a webinar (or "web-based seminar") will receive a printed copy of the workbook in advance of the seminar date and will be provided with access to supplementary materials online. The student will be expected to complete two hours of self-study before taking the two-hour online seminar. Active participation in the seminar (e.g., through poll questions and evaluation surveys) is mandatory in order to receive the AIC CPD credits – an online quiz is required in some courses. Find out more about webinars here. Please note, webinar offerings are subject to enrollment.
Self-Study Courses
Self-study courses range from one to four lessons (typically 3-5 hours of work per lesson). In a self-study course, the student is mailed a printed copy of the course readings and is provided with access to supplementary materials online. The student reads the materials at his or her own pace and, when ready, completes a 20-question multiple choice online quiz. Find out more about self-study CPD courses here.
